School Time Blue's...

So as many of you know I am taking my last two classes to be done with my associates degree! Yay! I am so excited! One of the classes is a 5 week class and the other is a full 16 week semester. The 5 week class is a Sociology class and I went into it so gung ho! I have been getting 100%'s on all of my essays and 90%'s on all of my quizzes. I have a 95% in the class right now, but I am losing my interest and am so over it! It has been so much work over the last 4 weeks. I have one week left and I am so not into it. I always do this, at the end of a class I start to slack off. I am trying really hard not to though! It is really important that I get an A in this class, for me. I have a 3.5 right now and was asked by Pima to join the honors program, unfortunately I transferred to Cochise so I can't join Pima anymore. I am just so happy that I am going to be done with my associates finally!! I started college straight out of High School, I thought I wanted to be an architect b...

A Blessing a Day Keeps the Devil Away

Deuteronomy 30:16 For I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. For the past 6 weeks I had the pleasure of doing an amazing Bible Study! Satisfied At last... by Kay Harms. I was in desperate need of a a Bible Study and this one just hit the spot! She talks about being fulfilled through God, rather then going to other fleshly desires, like alcohol, Internet, cigarettes, friends, anything that can be be good or bad, but ultimately it is not truly fulfilling. If you are upset at someone, rather then venting to a friend you should go to God with it. I had that happen once while this Bible study was going on and I prayed sooo hard about. I got impatient after about 3 days and I called a friend to vent, thankfully she didn't answer. In the meantime a Bible verse was written on a friends blog that answere...

Hoosier Lovers!

Jorge and Gabe at the pond checking out the ducks Every year atleast once a year I go to Indiana to see my family. Some of you might not know that it is where I was born and that my whole family lives there, besides my mom and little brother and sister. We have never been in September before, this was Jorge's 4th time going and September was a great time! Growing up I spent every summer there, staying at my grandparents and those are the best memories of my life.. so far. My grandparents are 86 and 85 and man do they have energy still, they just go go go all the time!   Gabe reading to Grandma and Grandpa It took a little bit for Gabe to warm up to Grandma and Pa but once he did he sure did love them! They really loved him too! Grandpa loved it when Gabe would say Thank You. Grandpa taught Gabe to act like a monkey and one night at dinner Gabe looked around the whole table at everyone and when he saw my Grandpa he started acting like a monkey. It was s...

Gabe's Ready... Is mom???

Jaycee 3 months In the past week I have had the pleasure of watching Kelly's baby, Jaycee, 3 times. She is 3 months old (yesterday) It brings back all of those memories of when Gabe was that little.  I do miss that age but I sure do love the age he is now!! He is soooo funny!!! He LOVES Toy Story 1, 2 and 3. He watches them atleast twice a day (I know bad parenting but it makes him happy), he knows when all of his favioret parts are coming on and he sings all the songs. He cracks me up daily. He is always amazing me too with his knowledge. I have no idea how he knows some of the things he knows. Gabe almost 3 months For example, I have taught him most of the body parts so it's normal for him to come up to me and point to my nose and eyes and ears and head and toes and name them off. The other day he had Po from Kung Fu Panda and he started naming all of the body parts. He got to arm and said "your arm". I haven't taught him arm yet so he got it from somewhe...

Chasing a Raincloud

Yesterday I was supposed to walk 8 miles as part of my training. So I grabbed Gabe, some water and my ipod and set off. This would be the most miles I had walked since starting to train. Saturday's are the biggest walking training days..next Saturday is 10 miles and it continues to go up. Anyway I began walking, when I got on the road that takes us South I saw a storm ahead. Lightening and all. It was just on the other side of the mountain so I figured I could make it where I was going then turn back around and RUN from it! This is what I FIRST saw We kept walking towards the storm. For those of you who don't live in AZ let me explain our weather to you a little bit (Oh no! Am I SERIOUSLY talking about weather?!) Everyone thinks it's all Sunshine here year round.. it almost is. July starts off our monsoon season... one minute it will be completely clear skies and the next it will be raining so hard that the streets are flooded. NO JOKE! The Storm and I have moved close...

My Journey to the 3~Day

My Ah~Mazing Team! As many of you already know I am going to be walking 60 miles in 3 Days in November!! I am suuupper excited!!! There are 4 of us on a team.. each of us had to individually raise at lease $2300 in order to walk. Basically if you don't make the money... you don't walk. Sounds cruel but I understand the reasoning behind it. Bunco for Boobs! All summer my team and I have been doing fundraisers... Garage sales, a carwash, a night at Paul's Pub, Bunco, Bake sale and a awesome Pedicure Party! It has been sooo much fun! I have not minded doing it one bit!! It has been keeping me super busy but that's fine with me! We aren't done yet though!! Dillon's is putting on a PARTY IN PINK for us on Aug 25th where all tips will be donated to us! We will be doing another carwash and we are throwing a BIG Thank You BBQ for every single person who has helped us out in anyway!!! In between fundraising we have been walking... 3 miles one day..then 5.. a...

As Summer chages into Fall...

Last year when we moved back to Sierra Vista I decided that I was going to get back into Church. I have always been a very spiritual person but after years of being forced to go to church on Sundays, Wednesday and going to a Church school I rebelled against Church and religion in general. For far too long I felt that I didn't need Church as an institution. I fully whole-Heatedly believed that as long as I prayed everyday and believed and loved Jesus with all my heart and sole that it was enough. As time went on I began to feel an emptiness... I instantly knew what it was but was not fully sure how to fulfill it. I didn't want to go to church alone in Tucson, so I just didn't go. When we moved back to Sierra Vista I felt like I could be renewed, start over!! I especially wanted Gabe in the Church setting. I began going to Bible Study on Wednesdays and Church on Thursday nights. I was beginning to feel...WHOLE. It was an amazing feeling. Over time I stopped going to Church ...
