A Blessing a Day Keeps the Devil Away

Deuteronomy 30:16

For I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.

For the past 6 weeks I had the pleasure of doing an amazing Bible Study! Satisfied At last... by Kay Harms. I was in desperate need of a a Bible Study and this one just hit the spot! She talks about being fulfilled through God, rather then going to other fleshly desires, like alcohol, Internet, cigarettes, friends, anything that can be be good or bad, but ultimately it is not truly fulfilling. If you are upset at someone, rather then venting to a friend you should go to God with it. I had that happen once while this Bible study was going on and I prayed sooo hard about. I got impatient after about 3 days and I called a friend to vent, thankfully she didn't answer. In the meantime a Bible verse was written on a friends blog that answered all of my prayers! Right then and there my angry feeling towards this person went away and I learned from that, that I just need to be patient! God WILL answer my prayers it just might take a little time sometimes. Anyway, by the end of the Bible Study I felt very fulfilled, and with 2 weeks off from Bible study I am now doing everything I can to stay in the word and on good spiritual terms. I feel at peace inside, and even with somethings that we have going on at home, when I found myself getting overwhelmed I gave it all to God and I have complete peace about it because I know he will provide for us in time.

Last Saturday I had this feeling take over me that God had a blessing coming to me very soon, I had no idea what kind of blessing.. but a blessing is a blessing right! So Saturday me and the Hub went on a motorcycle ride which is a blessing in itself. Something about the wind in your hair and being at one with nature, its so relaxing. You forget about all the problems and the teething crying baby! We spent the day together and that night I found a gift card for $25 to Payless! Of course I was grateful but I was not sure why Payless... I didn't need shoes and Jorge or Gabe didn't need shoes.. BUT non the less it was a blessing and I took it just as that!

Sunday I got up and ready for Church, it was almost time to leave and Jorge was in bed and I asked him if he was going to go with us. He said, "do you want me to go?" I said of course I do! He got up and got dressed and we went! Every time Jorge goes to Church with me, which can be a rare occasion, I pray that God will teach a sermon that will go straight to Jorge's heart. I think the sermon on Sunday, at least parts of it, got through to him..:o) That was the blessing that day!

Monday I found out that I was getting reimbursed for school! A good chunk of money, not all of it but enough! We also had some other things work out in our favor money wise! Blessing!

Tuesday A place that I had put in applications for seasonal work called me to do interviews! Blessing!

Wednesday I had an interview, it went pretty well but I found out that the hours were not going to be as great as I thought so I was a little bummed out. So that night I walked to my Relay for Life meeting and on the way I prayed about it... very soon after I had a friend text me a sweet message that was inspiring and I felt like it could be straight from God! Later that night when I was doing homework I saw I had a missed call and I called it back and it was the other place I had applied. They wanted me to do an interview on Thursday. It gave me a little hope.. Blessing either way...

Thursdays I went to the interview and I got hired on the spot!! I start tonight.. unfortunately it is not going to offer many hours either BUT its better then nothing!

NOW... to circle it back around.. now that I have this job I am going to need SHOES for the job... guess God knew what he was doing when he gave me that gift card after all...:o)
Even though you may not think all of these blessings are that great, they are.. even the little one's, its just taking the time out of your day to recognize them. I hope that you will ALL be blessed! Today and everyday! Give a part of your day to God and he will give all of himself to you!
