High five for Friday

I still have no idea how to link to my cousin or to the original girl Lauren who made this high five for Friday post but I do it anyway! 5. Sunday was the first time that Jorge went to a new church with me, we have a church that we go to but while Jorge was in Afhhanistan I went to my childhood church. The exciting part was that we got to see my sweet friend Savannah get baptized! Watching her grow this past year has been such a blessing to me, she makes me want to do better and she tells me when I'm being "ugly" {my attitude has been ugly these past few months}. It's nice to have someone to keep you in check like that! 4. Monday we had mops, lately I have not been into it at all. Somehow in the last couple of months it became more of a burden then a fun thing for me. This Monday it was really good though! I really enjoyed it like I used to. I wasn't sure if I was going to go next semester or not but I recommitted myself to the committee and am praying for a F...

Favorite New Healthy Recipe's

Recently people have been asking for the recipes that Jorge and I have been making, so I am going to put some up on here. We got pretty much all of the recipes from Pintrest and they are HEALTHY and DELICIOUS! I must admit that a lot of the recipes I improvised on, I just worked with what I had.. sometimes I only had lemon not lime so I would substitute or cayenne pepper instead of red pepper etc. a lot of the recipes that called for onions I left them out. Main Dishes Picture and recipe from http://www.gimmesomeoven.com/hummus-crusted-chicken/ 1. Hummus Crusted Chicken This Hummus Chicken was SO amazing and SO easy! I just bought the hummus dipping stuff. I didn't make the veggies with it instead I made a quinoa salad which I will add the recipe below.   Ingredients 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts salt and pepper 1 zucchini, chopped 1 yellow squash, chopped 1 medium onion, chopped 1 cup hummus, homemade or store bought 1 Tbsp. olive oil 2 lem...

Sandy Eggo

My best friend of 16 years is FINALLY getting married! I don't say that bc she's a loser and couldn't find anyone until now I say that because she has been with her fiancee for 10 years! DyAnna and Steve met at the Naval Academy in Annapolis in 2003. When they graduated they both were able to go to San Diego. DyAnna went on to work with the navy while Steve continued his schooling by going to medical school. I'm sure you can imagine navy relationships have to be hard enough with crazy hours, deployments and everyday stresses but throw med. school in the mix and it just gets crazier. They decided to wait until Steve graduated to get married. I waited so patiently for all these years for a date to be set and then finally we had a date! May 12,2013! When she told me it seemed like light years away, yet here it is already!! I can't tell you how much I love these 2! They are the power couple that you see together and you can just see how in love they are, you would thin...

Cleaning with Meaning

One of Jorge and I's biggest fights has always been cleaning. He is a clean FREAK and I am very laid back. Not to say that I'm messy or not clean but things that bother him don't even phase me. For example, I can clean the kitchen and when Jorge gets home I say, "look babe I cleaned the kitchen!" he says good job and tries to be excited but really I know he's not impressed. To him cleaning the kitchen means cleaning every little thing, he looks at the stainless steal and the microwave and stove.. etc. things that I don't even think about cleaning. The fingerprints on the dishwasher don't phase me, yet to him that means the kitchen is not actually clean. One thing that I was able to learn about Jorge about 4 years into our relationship was that his love language is Acts of Service. Ladies, knowing your mans love language is huge! Knowing this about him helped to know why he was so cranky when the house would be a mess even though I was trying to be nic...

I'm linking up again this week with my cousin misty {I don't know how to link her} with High Five for Friday. All the high lites from my week that I know you all are dying to read about! :P I didn't have a very interesting week so I will be scrabbling.... Bare with me. 5. Juliana got very sick on Saturday, the poor girl was throwing up all day. She was sick for about 4 days. No this isn't a positive high light of my week but when you have kids and that's your everyday life them every moment counts. By Thursday she finally seemed to be getting back to herself. As much as I hate her being sick I must admit I love how cuddly and lovey she is, plus the fact that she will sit still for more then 2 seconds is pretty sweet too. 4. I had kind of a draining week. I didn't have any energy this week and the kids were just driving me crazy. One day Gabe told me "mom I don't like it when you tell at me." I told him, " I know buddy and I have been ye...

I'm linking up with my sweet cousin Misty to do this Fav 5's from the week. So here they are... 5. Easter was on Sunday and how can anyone not put Easter on their Top 5?! Thank you Jesus for dying and rising for US! That in itself is amazing.. I don't care who you are... secondly, family time is always great. Any excuse to BBQ and play with the kiddos is fun. We went to garden canyon, with Jorge's family and mine. Even my new baby nephew got to join in the fun! Juliana had fun chasing the car... and she had even more fun driving it with her best buddy My {Mike} Jorge with his aunt, mom and aunt and uncle   Baby nephew Zachy 4. Gabe has been playing T-ball and had his first game on Sat. oh. my. cuteness!! Watching the kids out there is sooooo much fun! Gabe got MVP and the game ball! Just seeing his face and watching him run around aimlessly was so worth every second of having Juliana do everything BUT sleep in the dirt. He had his second gam...

Vacation, had to Get Away

Having Jorge gone for almost 3 months sure did take its toll on me. Luckily the kids and I were able to go to Indiana to visit family. Ton's of loving, giving, Juliana taking, family members! I took more naps in that short time period then I had in the last 3 months! It was amazing! My cousins are so incredibly helpful. My family hadn't seen Juliana since July, so they got to see how crazy she really is. They started calling her the little tornado, of course they all loved her. Towards the end of our trip she started to adjust to everyone and to the place. While we were there it was my grandma's 89th birthday! All of the girls, aunts, cousins, nieces, grandchildren took her out to lunch. I think she had a blast! She says she doesn't cry just that her eyes leak or water sometimes. That night we took her to a little town called Wallace where they have good clean singing and dancing. I think my grandma really loved that! Her and my grandpa even danced, which makes my ey...
